  1. Daughter of a tribal family coming from a very ordinary house in Odisha, Draupadi Murmu has been elected as the 15th President of India. Murmu becomes India’s first woman tribal President.
  2. Acting President Ranil Wickremesinghe has won the presidential election held in the Sri Lankan Parliament with 134 votes.
  3. The organisers of the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympic Games have announced that the opening for the mega event will take place on 14 July, 2028.
  4. Indian passport was ranked 87th in the Henley Passport Index. Japan, Singapore and South Korea have the most powerful passports in the world.
  5. The Union Cabinet on 20 July, 2022 approved the signing of an MoU for Judicial cooperation between India and the Judicial Service Commission of the Republic of Maldives.
