  1. The World Federation of Neurology (WFN) celebrates World Brain Day on every 22 July. World Brain Day (WBD) 2022 is dedicated to the theme “Brain Health for all”.
  2. The Central Government has appointed Jayanti Prasad as a Wholetime Member of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) for five years.
  3. India’s spending on research and development (R&D) is among the lowest in the world, as per a study conducted by NITI Aayog and Institute for Competitiveness.
  4. NITI Aayog has released its report titled ‘Digital Banks: A Proposal for Licensing and Regulatory Regime for India’.
  5. Tata Projects Ltd has appointed Vinayak Pai as its Managing Director, effective 22 July, 2022.
  6. The 9th ASEAN-India Senior Officials Meeting on Transnational Crimes (SOMTC) was held in a virtual mode on 20 July, 2022.
  7. The 13th Petersberg Climate Dialogue held in Berlin, Germany. The two-day informal ministerial meet has been chaired by Germany and Egypt, hosts of this year’s annual climate meet (COP-27).
  8. As temperatures have continued to soar, the UK Meteorological (Met) Office issued the first-ever red extreme heat warning for areas of England, including London.
  9.  A book titled ‘The Resilient Entrepreneur’  written by Dhruti Shah was launched in July 2022.
  10.  Union Minister Jitendra Singh on 18 July, 2022 launched the ‘National Standards for Civil Service Training Institutions’ (NSCSTI) in New Delhi.
  11.  Tamil Nadu has topped the list of states for utilisation of funds under the Central Government’s flagship Smart City Mission.
  12. Eminent biologist, researcher and director of Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, Dr Ajay Parida passed away at the age of 58 in Guwahati on 19 July, 2022.
  13.  Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on 19 July, 2022 launched the ‘Swanirbhar Naari’ scheme in Guwahati.
  14. Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has issued a decree to appoint Sheikh Mohammed Sabah Al Salem as a new Prime Minister.
