  1. World Breastfeeding Week is observed every year to emphasize regular breastfeeding for babies. This year breastfeeding week commences on 1 August while it concludes on 7 August. 
  2. World Wide Web Day is observed on the 1st of August every year.
  3. Every year, World Lung Cancer Day is observed on 1 August to raise awareness about the causes and treatment of lung cancer.
  4. Muslim Women’s Rights Day is observed every year on the 1st of August to celebrate the enforcement of the law against the ‘Triple Talaq’ rule among Muslims.
  5. Union Minister Sarbanand Sonowal inaugurated the Chabahar Day Conference in Mumbai on 31 July, 2022.
  6. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu on 31 July, 2022 presented the prestigious ‘President’s Colours’ to the Tamil Nadu Police.
  7. 14 years old Squash player Anahat Singh is India’s youngest athlete to participate at the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG) in Birmingham.

  9. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen on 31 July, 2022 won the Hungarian Formula 1 Grand Prix. Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and his teammate George Russell came at the second and third positions respectively. 
  10. Indian weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinnunga on 31 July, 2022 won the gold medal in the men’s 67kg category at the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham.
  11. The Punjab govt has signed an agreement for becoming a member of the prestigious Global Network called ‘Under2 Coalition’ to check global warming.
