1. Dr Asghar Wajahat, a well-known Hindi writer, was conferred with the 31^st Vyas Samman on 25 August, 2022. He has been chosen for the prestigious award for his play ‘Mahabali’, which focuses on Mughal emperor Akbar and poet Tulsidas.
2.  The Uttar Pradesh govt has decided to develop Kannauj as a perfume tourism destination.
3.  Bangladesh and India on 25 August, 2022 signed contracts for two railway projects.
4. Village Defence Guards Scheme 2022, is a programme with a defence component that was only recently introduced for the state of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
5. In the 28^th Abu Dhabi, Masters Chess Tournament Grandmaster Arjun Erigaisi defeated David Anton Guijarro from Spain in the ninth and final round.
6. The private sector lender RBL Bank has appointed Gopal Jain and Dr Sivakumar Gopalan as the non-executive directors.
