1. In India, National Small Industry Day is celebrated on 30 August every year, to support and promote small industries for their overall growth potential and opportunities received for their development in the year.
2. International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances is observed globally on 30 August every year by United Nations.
3. Union Minister for Earth Sciences, Dr. Jitendra Singh on 28 August unveiled a dedicated website, www.swachhsagar.org to give further boost to the ongoing Coastal Clean-Up campaign.
4. The world’s largest religious monument ‘The Temple of Vedic Planetarium’ in Mayapur, Nadia, West Bengal, will serve as the headquarters of the International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). It is expected to be open in 2024, due to pandemic’s 2 years of delay.
