1. World Water Monitoring Day (WWMD) is annually observed across the globe on 18 September to increase public awareness of water monitoring and recognizes the importance of protecting the world’s water resources.
2. Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineering Limited (GRSE), Kolkata, has been awarded with the ‘Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar’ by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
3. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha dedicated a 120 feet tall National Flag to the nation at Pulwama in South Kashmir on 18 September, 2022.
4. Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has declared Andaman and Nicobar Islands as India’s first Swachh Sujal Pradesh.

15. The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, signed constitutional amendments that extended the nation’s presidential term to 7 years from 5 years and brought back the old name of the country’s capital to ‘Astana’ from the current ‘Nur-Sultan’.
16. Former Union Minister and Congress Leader Manikrao Hodlya Gavit passed away at the age of 87 years in Nasik, Maharashtra on 17 September, 2022.
