  1. World Rhino Day is observed on 22 September to spread awareness about the different Rhinoceros species and the dangers they face. The theme of the 2022 World Rhino Day is “Five Rhino Species Forever”.
  2. World Rose Day for the Welfare of Cancer Patients worldwide is celebrated annually on the 22nd of September.
  3. World Car-Free Day is annually observed across the globe on 22 September to encourage people to give up their cars for a day and adopt using non-motorized transport like riding a bicycle or walking.
  4. The 11th Foundation Day celebration of Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) was held on 20 September, 2022.
  5. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on 20 September 2022 launched the SCALE (Skill Certification Assessment for Leather Employees) app.
  6. Gujarati film ‘Chhello Show’ has been selected as India’s official entry to the 95th Academy Awards (2023 Oscar Awards). This film is titled ‘Last Film Show’ in English and directed by Pan Nalin.
  7. Bangladesh won its maiden SAFF Women’s Championship title at the Dashrath Rangshala Stadium in Kathmandu on 19 September, 2022.
  8. The International Cricket Council (ICC) on 20 September, 2022 announced several changes to its playing conditions after the chief Executives’ Committee ratified recommendations from the Sourav Ganguly-led Men’s Cricket Committee.

  13.  Maharashtra government has decided to grant a total of 20 days casual leaves for the Maharashtra police every year.
  14. Swimmer from Assam, Elvis Ali Hazarika has become the first Assamese to swim across the North Channel.
  15.  Popular comedian Raju Srivastava passes away on 21 September, 2022.   
  16. The rotational presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has been handed over to India in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
