1. On 29 September, the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste is observed globally. The theme for International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste 2022 is “Stop Food Loss and waste. For the people For the planet”.
2. Every year on the 29^th of September, people all around the world observe World Heart Day. The theme for World Heart Day 2022 is “Use Heart for every Heart”.
3. The International Maritime Organization observes World Maritime Day on the last Thursday of September. This year, it has been observed on 29 September. The theme for World Maritime Day 2022 is “New technologies for greener shipping”.
4. Daniel Spielman has been announced as the winner of the 2023 Breakthrough Prize in Mathematics.
5. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on 26 September, 2022 launched indigenously-developed AVGAS 100LL, a special aviation fuel meant for piston engine aircraft and unmanned Aerial vehicles.
6. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh on 26 September, 2022 announced the ‘One Week One Lab’ theme-based campaign to showcase technological breakthroughs and innovations.
7.  Dilip Asbe has been reappointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) for a period of 5 years.
8. Italy has elected a hard-right coalition led by a party that descended from Benito Mussolini’s fascist party in the aftermath of World War II. The party’s leader, Giorgia Meloni, is set to be Italy’s first female Prime Minister.
9. Amazon is establishing its first solar project in India. Amazon’s three solar power plants of 420 MW will be built in Rajasthan.
10. Air India announced that it has signed a definitive sale and lease back agreement with Nasdaq-listed Willis Lease Finance Corporation for 34 CFM56-5B engines installed on its Airbus A320 family fleet.
11. Senior bureaucrat Rajendra Kumar has been appointed the Director General of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation.

14. The Centre has withdrawn incentives and special allowances given to IAS, IPS and IFoS officers working in the north eastern regions with immediate effect.
