  1. National Voluntary Blood Donation Day (NVBDD) is annually observed across India on 1 October to spread awareness about blood donation among the people.
  2. International Coffee Day is observed on 1 October every year to celebrate and promote the use of coffee.
  3. On 1 October 2022, the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) observed its sixth annual day to commemorate the establishment of the IBBI.
  4. The International Day of Non-Violence is observed on 2 October, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, leader of the Indian independence movement and pioneer of the philosophy and strategy of non-violence.
  5. Since 1983, the annual observance of World Day for Farmed Animals (WDFA) on 2 October has been offering people of conscience an opportunity to memorialize and mourn these innocent lives.
  6. India celebrated the 118th birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri, the nation’s second Prime Minister on 2 October, 2022.

  10. Indian weightlifter Mirabai Chanu won gold medal in the women’s 49kg category at the 36th National Games in Gandhinagar on 30 September, 2022.
  11. The Indian delegation headed by the Minister of State for Culture Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal represented at UNESCO-MONDIACULT 2022 World Conference held at Mexico City during 28-30 September, 2022.
  12. An author, politician and former international civil servant, Shashi Tharoor, authored a new book titled ‘Ambedkar: A life’, a biography of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar. The book was published by Aleph Book Company.

  14. A women’s rights activist from India, Srishti Bakshi has won the ‘Changemaker’ award at the UN SDG (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals) Action Awards held at a ceremony in Bonn, Germany.
  15. Sunil Barthwal, an 1989 batch IAS officer of Bihar Cadre has been appointed as the Secretary, Department of Commerce under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in New Delhi.
