CURRENT AFFAIRS OF 5^th NOVEMBER 2022 

1. Every year on 5 November, World Tsunami Awareness Day is celebrated around the world to raise awareness about Tsunamis. The theme of World Tsunami Awareness Day 2022 in Asia –Pacific: “Early Warning and Early Action Before Every Tsunami”.
2. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on 3 November, 2022 inaugurated the ‘Baji Rout National Football Tournament’ in Dhenkanal.
3. Noted Malayalam novelist and short story writer A Sethumadhavan, popularly known as Sethu, has been selected for the 2022 Ezhuthachan Puraskaram, the Kerala government’s highest literacy award.
4. Governor of Assam and Nagaland, Professor Jagdish Mukhi inaugurated National Integrate Innovate Expand (NIIE) Trade Fair at Chumukedima Nagaland.
5. A wreath-laying ceremony by the Indian Army was organized in honor of Major Somnath Sharma, PVC (Posthumous), the first Param Vir Chakra of the Indian Army at Saviours of Kashmir War Memorial at Srinagar International Airport.
6. In Squash, Indian men’s team clinched their first-ever gold at the Asian Squash Team Championships on 4 November, 2022.
7. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will be on a two-day visit to Russia from 7 November, 2022.
8. Union Minister for Culture, Tourism and DoNER, G. Kishan Reddy inaugurated the sixth edition of Ganga Utsav 2022 in New Delhi on 4 November, 2022.
9. Indonesia on 3 November, 2022 handed over the Presidency of the R20 summit, the religious grouping of the G20, to India which New Delhi will host in 2023.
10. Switzerland has created a world record by operating the longest passenger train. The 1910 metres long train has 100 coaches with a total of 4,550 seats.
11. Union Minister Bhupender Yadav will lead the Indian delegation to attend the 27^th session of Conference of Parties of the UNFCCC (COP27). The Conference is scheduled to be held at Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt from 6 to 18 November, 2022.
12. On 3 November, 2022 the 11^th edition of the annual Joint Military Training (JMT) between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Royal Singapore Air Force (RSAF) commenced at Kalaikunda, West Bengal.
13. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on 4 November, 2022 launched the new AI/ML based chatbot, ‘Aadhaar Mitra’ for better resident experience.
14. The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) on 2 November, 2022 named Subhrakant Panda as its next president.
15. Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Giriraj Singh unveiled the booklet ‘Agenda for Members of Panchayati Raj Institutions for Rural Development’ on 4 November, 2022.
